Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function properly. They enable core functionality such as security, authentication, and session management. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Platform would not work without them.

Local Storage

Analytics and Demand Measurement
When you select "Accept All", you consent to analytics that measure demand: we record which universities and programmes you look at and search for while browsing, so we can improve the platform and give universities aggregated statistics about student interest (see Sections 2 and 4 of our Privacy Policy).
For signed-out visitors this uses a temporary identifier stored in your browser's session storage (svvy_demand_sid). It is not a cookie: it lasts only until you close the browser tab, is never sent to any other website, and cannot follow you across a browser restart. It exists only so that one person reading several pages is counted once rather than several times.
If you select "Essential Only", or you have not yet answered the banner, no such identifier is created and your signed-out browsing is not measured. If you later withdraw consent, the identifier is deleted from your browser. If you are signed in, this activity is recorded under your account as described in the Privacy Policy, and this analytics-cookie choice does not apply to it.

Error Monitoring
We use Sentry for error tracking and performance monitoring to help us identify and fix issues. Sentry does not set cookies. It uses browser sessionStorage for session replay features and sends error data directly to Sentry servers. No personally identifiable information is collected by default.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services that may set cookies or use browser storage:
- Clerk: Authentication and user management. Sets essential cookies for session management. Clerk cookies do not store personally identifiable information by default.
- Cloudflare: Security and performance. Sets the _cfuvid cookie for bot detection.
- Sentry: Error tracking and performance monitoring. Does not set cookies; uses sessionStorage for session replay.
- Vercel: Hosting platform.

4. Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

Cookie Consent
When you first visit our Platform, you will be shown a cookie consent banner where you can accept or customize your cookie preferences. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer.
5. Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you choose to disable cookies, some features of our Platform may not function properly. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the Platform to work. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the Platform but will limit our ability to improve our services based on usage data.
